  1. We have three Dell Computers that have the 3C509 Ethernet board in it.  I
  2. have succesfully install PC-NFS 5.0 on all of them and the work fine.  
  3.  
  4. However, I also installed Mosaic, NCSA Telnet, Gopher, Infonet, Eudora,
  5. FTP, Trumpet on one of them.  It stated that I need a winsock and driver
  6. for the board.  Well I got the shareware stuff and installed it and it
  7. worked fine, but I had to setup a menu to allow either NFS or the other
  8. programs to work.

  10. I'm not really up on all this winsock and driver stuff.  I was told that
  11. PC-NFS winsock (?) could run everything, so I woudn't have to setup various
  12. Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files.  So far no luck.  Can this be done?

  14. Please someone expalain this stuff.  I like to know the details and not
  15. just how to set it up.

  83. The latest version (I think it is alpha 2.1 A)...I checked last night and 
  84. I know I have the very latest....crashes regularly in the midst of 
  85. retrieval and other functions. Generally it just freezes. I can usually 
  86. <alt>F4 out of it, but on occasion need to <ctl><alt><del> and have 
  87. windows terminate it.

  115. I am running WfW3.11 attaching to a Novell server and at the same time
  116. communicating with a set of WfW3.11 PCs. I have this system working,
  117. although i have had much grief in attaining it. But on loading the
  118. MS TCP-32 and configuring it I get no joy from tcp at all.

  140. Hit small snag at this point in that the Novel server using Media_type Ethernet_II
  141. but default setting for use in wfw is Ethernet_802.3. After much probs eventually
  142. found that i have to manually edit "net.cfg" and "protocol.ini" :
